Many restaurants in Singapore is welcoming Chinese New Year with CNY themed dishes and yusheng, even Japan’s number 1 soba restaurant Nadai Fujisoba Ni-hachi launched a Yusheng dish that is made of SOBA! Price at only $38.80++, this tower of SOBA YUSHENG is affordable and can be shared up to 8 people!
It comes with cold and fried soba noodles along with a generous medly of salmon, seasoned octopus, seaweed and jelly fish, crabstick strips, shredded egg and tobiko. The sushi gari (ginger), orange cubes and winter melon strips offer a refreshing taste, while the white and red carrot, purple cabbage, Japanese cucumber and Chinese crackers a crunchy bite. It comes with a special sesame sauce that pulls all the ingredients together.
The Soba Yusheng is now available until 28 February 2018.
Apart from this innovative offering, Fujisoba will also be launching the GIRLS’ FESTIVAL SPECIAL SET (Cost: $19.80++) on 1st February 2018. This special dish is created to celebrate Hinimatsuri in Japan, which is also known as Dolls’ day or Girls’ day. On 3rd March every year, people pray for the health and happiness of girls. The Japanese will display Hina-ningyo (ornamental dolls) resembling the Emperor, Empress, attendants and musicians in court dress of the Heian period. Doing so takes away the girls’ bad luck. As for Fujisoba, they will display these dolls as a form of blessing for its female customers.
The set dish comes with 2 offerings: Hamaguri Soba and a bowl of Chirashi sushi, and comes with a small Hinaarare snack. The soba comes with 2 pieces of clam imported from Japan with their speciality buckwheat soba, while the chirashi sushi is filled with fresh sliced salmon, carrots, shiitake mushroom, konjac, fried soy, shredded egg, snap peas and tobiko on delicious sweet vinegared rice. The portion of soba you see in the picture is halve of what you will get, and the entire set is quite large and filling. A fitting meal during these rainy days.
The Girls’ Festival Special Set will be available from 1st February to 31 March 2018.
