When you hear your friends mention curry fish head at Johor Bahru, the result zeros in to only one place, and that is Kam Long Restaurant. This place is extremely popular, it is so well-known that queuing time of at least 30 minutes is default. Situated just a few blocks away from Johor Bahru City Square, this restaurant have been serving only their famous curry fish head for over 30 years. Do note that they close at 4PM or until sold out, so make sure to go early.

The curry fish head is really outstanding, just by tasting it already explains the reason for the eternally long queue. The curry pot consists of a large fish head mixed with cabbage, potato chunks and tau pok doused in their signature curry soup. The curry soup tastes fantastic with its great fragrance from the spices also smooth-tasting from its milkiness, truly an enjoyable curry dish to consume. To optimize the curry quantity usage, it is recommended to order one extra serving of tau pok to further utilize the fantastic curry.

Directions: From Johor Bahru City Square, exit the mall towards Jalan Wong Ah Fook, turn left and follow this road away from the mall. Cross the road and you will see Hong Leong Bank, continue pass it into a 4 storey apartment with shops below. Walk further down and cross another road, this time you will see another block with Hotel JB. Walk a bit more and you will see Kam Long Restaurant with a perpetual queue outside the shop.
