WANTON Seng’s Noodle Bar @ Amoy Street

Wanton Seng’s noodle bar, founded in early 2015, is a hipster bar serving time-perfected wanton noodles, signature cocktails and draft beers. Benson Ng bought over the business from Seng’s famous wanton mee at Dunman Food Centre  and modernised it into a noodle bar which is now situated in the midst of Amoy street. Seats include an open concept bar seating area, where you can watch your food and drinks skilfully prepared in front of you.

DINNER:

Their dinner is a special “Zi Char” style menu whereby you order dishes and sides to pair up with the signature “nudles” ($1.00). Furthermore, there is free flow sauce, soup and deep fried crispy pork lard for your noodles!

The wanton noodles are springy and fragrant. When you mixed with some of their home made chilli sauce, it will be simply delicious as such great taste can’t be replicated elsewhere. The strong flavoured soup is just incredibly savoury and it is something rare to come by for wanton noodle soups.

  • STIR FRIED DRY BAK KUT TEH
    Cost: $16.00

Bak Kut Teh normally comes in a bowl of soup, but at WANTON, they stir fry it with ladyfingers and cuttlefish. The portion is huge, one serving is definitely enough for a person. The sweet dark sauce enhances the flavour of the pork ribs, making it an enticing dish to pair with your noodles. Do note that this dish is limited, so it is advised to check with them first before heading down.

These honey glazed pork belly have been slow cooked for 18 hours, and further blow torched to get that unique grilled taste. The meat is succulent, delicious and has the melt-in-your-mouth feel. This is definitely a must try dish as it complements deliciously with the noodles.
