Singapore Night Festival 2016 – Last Day!

It’s the last day of the event! Come on down now to Bras Basah and Bugis to enjoy beautiful light installations, performances, dances, music and food tonight from 7.30pm to 2am! Visit museums and centres to appreciate visual exhibitions and experience the lively performances from Armenian Street to Queen’s Street on this final day!

ZONE 1: NATIONAL MUSEUM OF SINGAPORE

  • NIGHT LIGHTS AT SMU SCHOOL OF ACCOUNTANCY

  • INVASION BY CLOSE-ACT

Invasion is an unforgettable, moving street spectacle that immerses the audience in a magical atmosphere. A mythical world comes alive with large animals roving among the public,a prehistoric bird flying overhead, drummer in silver costumes on stilts and fire performers. This wonderful performance is done by the Close-Act which is a street theatre company that combines different performing arts disciplines – such as dance, music and circus – with stunning visual.
Do note of the time slot, it will be VERY crowded and be there early.

ZONE 2: ARMENIAN STREET

  • THE PERANAKAN MUSEUM VARIETY SHOW

The Peranakan Museum showcases a lively performance of song and dance! Dance along to classic Baba-Nyonya tunes, and sing along to performances in the dondang sayang tradition. Be a part of this Peranakan party in the heart of the city!

There are various food stalls lining in the street, just after the variety show stage. Be sure to grab these and enjoy the festivities along Armenian street!

Explore the Peranakan Museum with your family and friends while you enjoy innovations and inventions at the Singapore Night Festival. Be sure to visit their special exhibition Nyonya Needlework: Beadwork and Embroidery in the Peranakan World.

Brimming with people, the liveliness in the Festival Village never ends. With tons of food stalls circling an open eating area with benches, this place is the place for all food lovers. Take a pit stop at this zone and relish on yummy food available from 6pm to 1am. Full list of stalls can be found here.

Imagined as a forest of luminous elements and shadow play, this installation explores how everyday items and different types of light can influence the design of an experience.

Step through the shower curtains and into a boundless darkness scattered with infinite illuminated bubbles. As a modern-day translation of the classic eureka moment, #showerthoughts evokes the unexpected inspirational moments we often experience when showering. This sensory experience of space allow you to relax as if in a shower and explore the boundless creativity of your inner thoughts and ideas. Do note that there will be a long queue of up to 2 hours waiting to be entered.
