A 2 Michelin Star restaurant right in the middle of Japan Food Town opened its doors a few days ago, serves 2 set of meals; lunch meal, a Premium Wagyu with rice meal, while dinner is a 4 course premium wagyu hotpot meal. They also serve wines and sakes in their drinks menu. Everything that Nabe Seizan uses; ingredients, cutleries, dishes, pots and even the water they use for cooking are all brought over directly from Japan.
THE MENU AND PRICING
- WAGYU MABUSHI
Comes with a bowl of premium ohmi wagyu beef on premium Japanese rice, some condiments, a pot of dashi soup, an appetiser and a desert. The cold appetiser is made up of shiso herbs on scallop, and this combination is a refreshing and tasty start to the meal. For the main dish, it is advisory to follow the 3 step traditional way of eating. Firstly, is to eat the minced and sheets of beef with the rice only. This is to appreciate the savoury, rich and juicy taste of beef itself. Then, condiments are added, which adds a different dimension of taste to the beef. Lastly, the hot dashi soup is added to the mixture, resulting in dashichazuke, a japanese dish made by pouring dashi over rice.
The refreshingly sweet kyoho fruits with clear jelly complements the cold fresh milk pudding in this desert, which ends off the lunch set meal fittingly.

Directions: Alight at Orchard MRT Station (NS22) and exit at Exit D towards Wisma Atria B1 (do not exit to Ion Orchard). Take the escalator (after OCBC bank) up until level 4, where the Food Court is located. Walk past it and you will see Japan Food Town. At the main entrance, walk further in until the end, and you will see Nabe Seizan.
