Kiwami (Assorted Sushi)
This dish is made of 9 different kinds of sushi, except for the tamago which is provided as-is, there is also a ball of ginger slices given at the side. It lets you experience the tastes of each different kind of sushi. It also comes with some fruits, a small bowl of miso soup and chawanmushi. The sashimi atop the sushi feels really fresh, they all have soft and silky sensation with a mild fragrance from the pieces themselves, it tastes authentic, different from sushi bought from ordinary places. The roe on the ebiko sushi is larger compared to those we usually see, and the juices within tastes great with its slight saltiness and fishy fragrance. The tamago piece tastes great too, it is sweet and has delightful omelette-like taste.
This big ornate bowl contains 9 different kinds of sashimi atop crushed ice and a beautiful ice boat. Every slice of sashimi taste very fresh and soft to the bite. The ornamental ice boat contains salmon, shrimps, squid. The raw shrimps are soft and slimy, and the front part of the shrimp has that raw, fish eye taste. The other sashimi are fresh and chewy, and has a hint of its own raw fishy taste. The crushed ice makes the sashimi stay fresh and tasty, and gives a refreshing look to the dish.
The mackerel is grilled to a level where the skin has a bit of crustiness, and the fish meat is soft and tasty. Grilled with salt, the fish has a strong fragrance and it taste delicious. The squeezed lemon gives a citrus touch to the fish.
Overall, this fine dining restaurant has classic Japanese decorations and wooden furnitures. The staff are very polite and patient. Their sushi and sashimi are very fresh, and are served in beautiful ornate dishes.
