Rochor Original Beancurd has long been a famous stall for their sweet and silky beancurd since decades ago. Situated along Short Street, this stall is one of the two stalls in Singapore, the other being situated along Sims Avenue. Opens pass midnight, it can be a good supper station for people who are craving for late night food.
Smooth and silky in texture, this bowl of beancurd has a level of sweetness that is neither too sweet nor too bland. When you consume the beancurd, it has this slight coarse feeling in the mouth as though there is fine grains of flour or powder in it. The syrup is mixed well in the bowl, giving a constant flow of sweet flavour with the beancurd. It is indeed a beancurd that is worthy to try for. The You Tiao is a bit crispy, and the taste is light and flavourful.
Filled with potato curry and chicken, their curry puff does not come with a piece of egg inside. However, it is tasty, not so oily and is a snack that can be eaten with the beancurd.
Overall, the beancurd is worth the try for those who has not, and is a good choice for late night supper.
